“Սիրեցի - I Loved”
2025, Berlin
Textile (velvet), vintage Italian lace, sheep wool filling, mirror, natural pearls, artefacts
220 x 140 cm
Սիրեցի is a textile-based work centred on the traditional Armenian wool blanket-making technique. The piece features an embroidered human outline (self-contoured) positioned to suggest both a fallen body and an upward-reaching figure, reflecting a dual state of collapse and transformation.
Red beads mark the heart, pieces of mirror reference a fragmented sense of self, and pearls arranged like stars suggest distance. The Armenian word "Սիրեցի" ("I loved") is spelled in pearls.
